BOXSCORE BROCKPORT, N.Y. -- Fredonia State gave up three first-period goals and never recovered Friday in a 4-1 SUNYAC road loss to the Brockport Golden Eagles.

Alex Perkins (St. Albert, Alberta) scored the lone Fredonia State goal early in the third period.
Despite the loss, the Blue Devils (7-11-6 overall, 4-5-6 SUNYAC) officially clinched a SUNYAC Tournament playoff spot as a result of losses by Potsdam and Cortland.
Brockport also clinched a playoff berth and took over the No. 5 seed in the six-team tournament bracket, while Fredonia State dropped to No. 6.
Goals by Chris Luker and Jonathan Demme in a span of 45 seconds put the Blue Devils on their heels midway through the first period. A power-play goal by Jesse Facchini put Brockport up 3-0 later in the period.
Chris Cangro added to the Brockport lead with the only goal of the second period.
Perkins scored his sixth goal of the season 50 seconds into the third period, assisted by freshman
Hunter Long (Lebanon, Tenn.).
The Blue Devils were outshot 27-17.
Fredonia State closes its regular season Saturday at Geneseo.
