FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia women's basketball team dropped an 89-61 game to St. John Fisher in Steele Hall on Sunday.
The Devils end the semester at 2-5, while Fisher moves to 6-2.
The offense was paced by
Jacque Law (Macias, N.Y. / Pioneer) with 15 points and
Kathryn Halloran (Angola, N.Y. / Immaculata) with 11. Both Kaylun Billups (Buffalo, N.Y. / CSAT) and
Emily Lasher (Wislon, N.Y. / WIlson) had nine points apiece.
Sabrina Macaulay (Newark, N.Y. / Newark) had seven rebounds and
Alexis Cheatham (Lockport, N.Y. / Lockport) and
Jamie Curry (Ransomville, N.Y. / Wilson) had three assists apiece for Fredonia.
Fisher was led by Mary Kate Cusack and Bridget Carney with 19 points apiece, and Portia Velasco with 14 points.
The Devils tied the game midway through the first half at 12-all with a jumper by
Sammy Villarini (Hamburg, N.Y. / Hamburg). Fisher responded with three-straight buckets to take a lead they would not surrender.
The team is off for the winter break. Next up is a trip to Buffalo to take on Medaille College on Jan. 3rd.
