BOXSCORE GENESEO, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State women's basketball team dropped an 81-70 road decision at Geneseo on Tuesday evening.
The Devils saw freshman
Alexis Cheatham (Lockport) deliver a career-high 27 points. Her stat line also included six three-pointers and six assists.
Sophomore
Sabrina Macaulay (Newark) contributed 13 points and seven rebounds. Senior
Jaimie Warren (Lakeview/Frontier) had eight points and 11 rebounds. Senior
Becky Hebert (Hilton) had 11 points.
The loss dropped the Devils to 3-4 in the SUNYAC and 8-5 overall.
Geneseo upped its record to 3-3 in the conference and 9-4 overall. Alison McKenna led the Knights with 24 points.
The first half was tightly contested, with neither team leading by more than four points. Geneseo took a 41-39 lead into the break.
The Devils connected on nine three pointers compared to four by the Knights. Geneseo held a 44-33 edge in rebounds.
The team returns home this weekend with Potsdam and Plattsburgh visiting Steele Hall. Game times are 6 p.m. Friday vs. Potsdam, and 2 p.m. vs. Plattsburgh on Saturday.
