BOXSCORE GENESEO, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State men's basketball team fell 79-63 to Geneseo on Tuesday. Sophomore
Robert Lyles (Peekskill) led the Devils with 20 points.
Senior
Tyrone Clark (Elmira/Elmira Free) turned in an all-around performance with 17 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and six steals.
John Kovach (Shoreham/Shoreham-Wading River) scored 12 points and had five rebounds.
The Devils scored first and lead until the halfway point of the first half. Geneseo's Devon Anderson converted a layup to give the Knights a 19-17 lead. Up to that point, the Devils' biggest lead was seven points. Geneseo took a 36-31 lead into the half.
The Devils tied the game twice early in the second half before gaining back the lead. With the score tied 40-all, Clark made good on a three-point play to give the Devils a three-point lead, 43-40, with 12 minutes to play.
The Knights would take back the lead for good with an 18-2 run to make it 58-45.
The Devils fell to 0-6 in the SUNYAC and 3-11 overall. Geneseo moves to 5-1 and 11-2 overall. They were led by Andy Drescher with 21 points. Gordon Lyons had a double-double with 14 points and 11 boards.
The Devils return to Steele Hall to play host to Potsdam and Plattsbugh this weekend.
