BOXSCORE FREDONIA, N.Y –Fredonia State dealt SUNYAC opponent Buffalo State its first conference loss of the season Saturday, 81-58, in women's basketball at Steele Hall.
Becky Hebert (Hilton) led the Blue Devils with 21 points and added six rebounds.
Sabrina Macaulay (Newark) registered her third double-double of the season with a 15-point and 12-rebound effort.
Jaimie Warren (Lake View/Frontier) also had a big night. She scored 17 points to go along with nine rebounds as the Blue Devils improved to 8-4 overall and 3-3 in the conference.
The Bengals fell to 10-3 overall and 5-1 in the conference. Olivia Luciani and Kala Crawford were their top scorers with 12 points apiece.
Up 44-26 at the half, Fredonia State never trailed and led by as many as 27 points with just under three minutes remaining. The Blue Devils outscored the Bengals 44-24 in the paint.
Buffalo State had won the previous five match-ups against Fredonia State and also owned a five-game win streak to put them to the top of the SUNYAC standings.
Hebert has 1,351 career points as a Blue Devils, 19 points behind Cheryl Kindzia's school record of 1,370 points. In addition, Warren is 50 points shy of 1,000 career points. She would become the eighth Fredonia State woman to reach the milestone.
Their next chance to move up those lists is Tuesday at Geneseo.
