FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State men's soccer team cruised past Mount Saint Mary's (N.Y.) on Friday evening, 3-0. All three scores came in the first half.

The Devils received two goals from junior Connor Meekins (Bemus Point/Maple Grove) and another goal from senior Jay Dry (Lockport).

Dry opened the scoring in the fifth minute by putting back a rebounded shot. It was his third goal of the season.

Meekins scored the next two goals. On his first score, Luke Tylutki (Pittsford/Pittsford-Mendon) and Dry combined for the assists.

On Meekins' second score, Tylutki and Ryan Keller (East Aurora) had the assists.

The Devils outshot the Knights, 25-18.

Junior Michael Schreiner (Spencerport) earned the shutout in goal for the Devils with nine saves. Matt Darling had eight saves in a losing effort for the Knights.

Both teams now stand at 2-1-0. The Devils take on Houghton College, who were 1-0 winners over Buffalo State earlier in the day, at 5 p.m. Saturday with the winning team claiming the championship trophy.
