OT loss in SUNYAC opener

BOXSCORE BROCKPORT, N.Y. -- Brockport used a Matthew Roorda goal in the 94th minute to claim a 1-0 overtime victory over the Fredonia State men's soccer team on Friday. It was the SUNYAC opener for both teams.

In overtime, Brockport's Bobby Ross took a hard shot that was blocked. The Golden Eagles were awarded a corner kick. On the corner kick, Roorda nailed the ball into the box and scoring the game-winner as it bounced off the cross bar and Fredonia State goalkeeper Mike Schreiner (Spencerport) at the 93:45 mark.

Schreiner (Spencerport) made 10 saves in goal. Brockport's Casey Sullivan made five saves in the shutout victory. Brockport held a 20-9 advantage in shots and a 7-0 edge in corner kicks.

Freshman Ryan Keller (East Aurora) led the Devils with three shots.

Brockport, ranked No. 1 in the region and No. 7 nationally, moves to 6-0-2.

The Devils fall to 3-6 overall and 0-1 in the conference. They travel to SUNY Geneseo on Saturday.
