ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Fredonia State women's volleyball split a pair of matches Friday at the Rochester Institute of Technology tournament.
The Blue Devils (6-4) defeated Keuka, 3-0, before falling to St. John Fisher, 3-2.
In the opening match, Sara Madison continued her solid play in a 25-18, 25-14, 25-19 victory over Keuka. An all-tournament choice the past two weeks, Madison led the Blue Devils with 14 kills with a .289 hitting percentage.
Kelly Edinger ran the offense and collected 23 assists and three service aces. She also added nine digs and three blocks assists to the defensive effort. Brittney Kelly led the Blue Devils with13 digs. Jessica DiChristopher added eight digs and six total blocks.
Against St. John Fisher, Madison added 16 more kills and Paulina Rein had 14 kills in the 17-25, 25-22, 25-19, 18-25, 11-15 loss.
Edinger collected 42 assists, and Madison and Rein had two serivce aces each. Kelly had 23 digs, one of four Blue Devils in double figures. Lauren O'Hara added 14, Edinger 13, and Rein 12.
The Blue Devils' two Saturday matches are 11 a.m. vs. Rochester and 1 p.m. vs. Medaille.
