ERIE, Pa. -- Fredonia State picked up Saturday where it left off Friday at Penn State Behrend's Herb Lauffer Memorial Tournament.
The Blue Devils (1-1) defeated Bethany, 4-1, on Saturday with two solid halves of soccer. That came on the heels of a solid second half Friday during a 2-1 overtime loss to Baldwin-Wallace.
Jay Dry had two goals while Luke Tylutki and Connor Meekins had one goal each in Saturday's win. The Blue Devils outshot the Bison (0-2), 16-7.
Dry opened the scoring in the 10th minute, assisted by Brandon Schick. Tylutki made it 2-0 in the 18th minute, with Chase Lipshie and Jakob Persons earning assists.
Bethany cut the Fredonia State lead to 2-1 on a goal by Arkangelo James in the 22nd minute.
The Blue Devils took momentum into the break following the goal by Meekins, his first as a Blue Devil. Lipshie picked up his second assist of the game.
Dry scored his second goal of the game on a penalty kick in the 48th minute.
Mike Schreiner started in the Fredonia State goal for the second straight game. He made three saves.
