BOXSCORE FREDONIA, N.Y. -- Fredonia State's bid to make the SUNYAC Tournament will come down to the outcome of games Saturday at Ludwig Field and in Oneonta.

The Blue Devils (7-9 SUNYAC, 16-12 overall) will qualify if they win either of two games Saturday against No. 6 Cortland, or if Brockport wins either one of two games at Oneonta. Both doubleheaders are scheduled to start at noon.

Cortland (13-3 SUNYAC, 29-8 overall) defeated the Blue Devils, 14-3, while Oneonta topped Brockport, 7-2, in games played Friday. The loss eliminated Brockport, yet not Oneonta, which could claim away the No. 4 seed from the Blue Devils on the final day of conference play.

The top four teams will play next weekend at top-seed Cortland, which banged out 16 hits in its win Friday at Ludwig Field. Tim Panetta led the attack with three hits, including a two-run homer. Fredonia State's Sean Larson (Angola) took the loss and dropped to 2-3,

Kyle Barkley (6-1) allowed one run on six hits in six innings of work for Cortland. The Blue Devils finished with 10 hits off Barkley and two relievers. Ian Gallagher (Pittsford) was 3 for 4, including a two-run double in the last of the eighth inning. Conner Lorenzo (Rochester) and Jake Nowak (Depew) each had two hits.

Fredonia State's Kyle Morse (Southwestern) pitched one scoreless inning of relief.
