BROCKPORT, N.Y. -- Down 2-0 in the top of the seventh and final inning, Fredonia State scored six times to en route to a 6-2 victory in the first game of a doubleheader at Brockport. The Golden Eagles claimed the nightcap, 11-3.

In the first game, Dan Fetes (Webster/Webster Thomas) struck out to lead off the seventh for Fredonia State, but was able to reach first base as the catcher was not able to corral the wild pitch. Brian Sheehan (West Seneca/Orchard Park) then grounded to second base and reached on an error. Dillon Lowe (Pittsford/Pittsford Sutherland) then reached base on a fielder's choice when Sheehan was put out at second base.

Bobby Frantz (Webster/Webster Thomas) then lined out to center. With two outs, Kenny Johnston (Buffalo/Kenmore West) walked to load the bases. Matt Casilio (Webster/Webster Thomas) then battled his way through a 12-pitch at bat and was eventually walked to bring in the first run, with the bases still loaded.

Ian Gallagher (Pittsford/Pittsford Sutherland) then quickly found himself in an 0-2 hole, and fouled off several pitches. He eventually ripped a single up the middle and plated Lowe and Johnston to give the Devils a 3-2 lead and knock Brockport ace James Bardenett out of the game.

Erik Krohl (Syracuse/West Genesee) was walked to re-load the bases. Conner Lorenzo (Rochester/Brighton) singled to plate two more runs and give the Devils a 5-2 lead.  Fetes followed with a sharply hit ball off the third baseman and reached first when the throw pulled the firstbaseman off the bag, scoring Krohl with the Devils' sixth run.

Zachary Jordon (Akron) pitched a scoreless sixth and seventh to improve his record to 5-0 on the season. Zachary Hugg (Waverly) went the first five innings, scattering five hits and allowing a pair of earned runs.

Sheehan and Gallagher had three hits apiece to lead the Devils. Lorenzo and Gallagher each drove in a pair of runs.

Despite not scoring over the first six innings, the Devils had runners in scoring position in each of the first five innings to keep the pressure on. They outhit Brockport, 12-6.

Defensively, Frantz gunned down a runner at third base and a runner at the plate from centerfield to stop a pair of potential rallies.

For Brockport, Bardenett struck out six batters to become Brockport's all-time strikeouts leader, but suffered the loss, falling victim to the Blue Devils for the second time this season. Mike Weakly was three-for-three for Brockport.

Game 2 was all Brockport. They scored two in the first and four in the fourth to take a commanding 6-0 lead.

Down 10-0, the Devils fought back. In the top of the eighth, RBI singles by Ryan Fitzgerald, Quinn Danahy and Erik Krohl made it a 10-3 game. With two out and bases still loaded, Fetes flew out to left to end the rally.

Casilio had two of the Devils' eight hits in Game 2.

Brockport falls to 5-10 in the SUNYAC and 14-13 overall.

The Devils improve to 7-5 in the SUNYAC and 16-8 overall. They defeated Brockport 4-3 at Ludwig Field earlier this season and claim a two-games-to-one series victory. They are scheduled to travel to Oswego for a three-game set this weekend.
