BOXSCORE 2 BUFFALO, NY -- Fresh off its Southern Swing, the Fredonia State baseball team continued to play solid ball, sweeping Medaille College by scores of 5-3 and 16-3 to improve to 9-4 on the season.
Matt Casilio and
Kenny Johnston led the offense in game one with a pair of hits. Casilio also drove in two runs, while Johnston scored twice.
Starting pitcher
Kyle Morse went four innings scattering five hits and giving up three runs in earning the win.
Kyle Grey picked up his first save of the season, tossing three innings of one-hit ball and striking out four. Neither pitcher allowed a walk.
The Devils pounded out 16 hits in game two, led by
Dan Fetes' three safeties.
Ian Gallagher and
Erik Krohl each had a pair of hits and three RBI.
Conner Lorenzo and
John Bennett had two hits each.
Thomas Morris tossed the first three innings allowing two runs -- one earned -- and striking out five. Zachary Jordan went three innings with four strikeouts for the win.
Zachary Hugg pitched a scoreless seventh.
The Devils' home opener is slated for Tuesday at Ludwig Field. the nine-inning affair is slated for a 3 p.m. start.
