BOXSCORE 1 | BOXSCORE 2 LAKE MYRTLE, FLA -- The Fredonia State baseball claimed two more wins behind the complete-game efforts of senior pitchers Angelo Sciandra (Tonawanda/O'Hara) and Jake Nowak (Depew/Maryvale) on Wednesday. They took game one vs. Thomas College, 9-3, and rallied in the nightcap, 5-4.

Sciandra (2-0) scattered six hits, struck out five and allowed three unearned runs, all coming in the third inning.

Nowak (1-0) went the distance in game two -- after catching for Sciandra in game one -- allowing seven hits, striking out five and giving up three earned runs.

The Devils improve to 7-3 on the season, while Thomas falls to 0-6.

In the opener, the Devils jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning. With two outs, Brian Sheehan (West Seneca/Orchard Park) and Matt Casilio (Webster/Webster Thomas) drew walks. Kyle Koslowski (Hopewell Juntion/Arlington) tripled them both home and would score following a wild pitch.

The Devils added three more in the second. Nowak and Sheehan both delivered two-out RBI singles. The third run scored following an infield error.

The Devils tacked on two more in the third to take an 8-0 lead.

Thomas rallied for three runs in the third. A wild pitch and a throwing error by Sciandra accounted for the three scores.

The Devils added one more run in the seventh on a Kenny Johnston (Buffalo/Kenmore West) single.

Johnston finished the game with two hits, two runs and two stolen bases. Ian Gallagher (Pittsford/Pittsford Sutherland) added three hits.

In game two, the Devils scored all five runs in the fourth inning.

Down 3-0, Dillon Lowe (Pittsford/Pittsford Sutherland) was hit by a pitch to start the inning. Gallagher and John Bennett (Churchville/Churchville-Chili) followed with base hits, with Bennett's safety scoring Lowe.

Andrew Lawrence (Clarence) doubled in Gallagher. Ryan Carmody (Montgomery/Valley Central) singled home Bennett. Erik Krohl (Syracuse/West Genesee) hit a sacrifice fly to plate Lawrence. Sheehan capped the rally with an RBI single.

Sheehan led the Devils with two hits.

The Devils out-hit Thomas 12-6 in the first game, and 8-7 in game two.

The Devils wrap up their Southern Swing with a single game vs. Colby College at 11 a.m. Thursday.
