BOXSCORE 3 CLERMONT, Fla. – Fredonia State defeated Oberlin, 2-1, sandwiched between a pair of women's softball losses Tuesday.
The day began with a three-run top of the first inning in an eventual 6-4 loss to St. Olaf. After two were out,
Katie Bartkowiak was hit by a pitch and scored on a double by
Cherise Gunnell.
Alyssa Morgan and
Jess Lauck followed with an RBI singles.
The Blue Devils left the bases loaded and stranded 11 overall. Their only other run came on a solo homer by Gunnell leading off the seventh inning, her second HR of the spring and second hit of the game.
Megan Medina also had two hits.
All three Fredonia State pitchers saw duty.
Danielle Shelp started and left in the fourth inning after two runs in the first and two-run homers in the third and fourth innings.
Raela Wiley-Delp worked two scoreless innings of relief, and
Alyssa Brognano worked one.
The day ended with an 8-6 extra-inning loss to D'Youville.
