BOXSCORE FREDONIA, N.Y. – The Fredonia State and Geneseo men's basketball teams combined for 174 points on Friday evening. Unfortunately for the Devils, they came up on the short end, dropping a 94-80 decision in the team's final home game of the season.
Seniors
Adam LaQuier (Rensselaer Falls/Canton),
Devin Case (Gasport/Roy-Hart),
Dalton Kashmer (South Dayton/Pine Valley) and
Amir Billups (Buffalo/Starpoint) played their final games in Steele Hall.
Kashmer had his second highest offensive output of the season, pouring in 24 points. He shot six of 12 from the field and was 10 of 10 from the free-throw line. Kashmer's season high of 25 came in January vs. Cortland.
Billups added 17 points, hitting on three of eight three pointers. Billups, the top long-ball shooter in the SUNYAC, is shooting a conference-best 46 percent (49 of 106) from long range.
Robert Lyles (Peekskill) added 17 points. It was the freshman's fifth straight game scoring in double digits. LaQuier added four points. Case was inactive for the game.
As a team, the Devils converted 23 of 27 (85 percent) free-throw opportunities. The Devils fell to 6-17 on the season.
Geneseo (15-9) was led by Gordon Lyons with 18 points.
The Devils wrap up the 2012-13 campaign tomorrow night at Brockport.
