BOXSCORE FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State men's basketball team fell 67-54 to the visiting Oneonta State Red Dragons on Saturday.
The Devils are now 2-6 overall and 0-2 in the SUNYAC.
John Kovach (Shoreham/Shoreham-Wading River) led the Devils with 15 points and eight rebounds.
Robert Lyles (Peekskill) added 10 points, and
Tyrone Clark (Elmira/Elmira Free Academy) added seven points and four blocks.
Oneonta was paced by Zach Mager with 21 points, seven rebounds and four steals.
The Devils pushed the action early on and built their biggest lead of nine points, 13-4, at the 11:08 mark following a layup by Clark.
After several lead changes, Oneonta eventually took the lead for good at the 2:35 mark, 23-22, following a free throw by Jackson Zuvic. A layup by Mager would put the Red Dragons up 25-22, the score at the half.
Oneonta outscored the Devils 42-32 in the second half to claim the victory.
The Devils return to Steele Hall next Saturday when they take on Alfred State in a non-conference, women's/men's doubleheader.
