BOXSCORE ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Penalties plagued Fredonia State in its 5-0 loss Sunday to the U.S. National Under-18 Team at the Ann Arbor Ice Cube.

The Blue Devils were whistled for season highs for penalties (12) and penalty minutes (50), The Under-18's used their advantages to score three power-play goals.

The margin might have been larger had it not been for the play of freshman goaltender Christopher Eiserman (Newburyport, Mass.). He made several tough stops both while the Blue Devils were on the penalty kill and when the teams were at even strength.

Eiserman finished with 31 saves in just over 45 minutes. The Blue Devils were outshot, 45-17.

Shane Gersich scored two goals for the Under-18's, who are comprised of the top young players in USA Hockey's National Development program. Gersich has committed to the University of North Dakota. Seventeen of his teammates are also bound for NCAA Division I colleges.

Following a scoreless first period, the Under-18's started the second period with a 5-on-3 advantage. It took the hosts only 23 seconds to break the scoreless time as Boston College-bound Sonny Milano netted a power-play goal with a short one-timer in the crease.

The Under-18's had two other 5-on-3 advantages later in the second period, and one more in the third period.

Alex Tuch., another Boston College commit, and Dylan Larkin, bound for Michigan, also had one goal each.
