BOXSCORE ERIE, PA. -- The Fredonia State men's basketball team fell 76-46 at Penn State Behrend on Tuesday.
Fredonia State was led by senior
Tyrone Clark (Elmira/Elmira Free Academy) with 20 points.
Ray Parris (Brooklyn/Benjamin Bannaker) chipped in nine points.
John Kovach (Shoreham/Shoreham-Wading River) had seven rebounds.
Behrend jumped out to an early 21-6 lead midway through the first half. The Devils would battle back with a 19-5 run to pull within one point, 26-25, following a Clark layup with three-and-a-half minutes left in the half.
Behrend responded with an 11-1 run to take a 37-26 lead into the break. Clark had 12 at the intermission.
The Lions outscored Fredonia State 39-20 in the second half to secure the win. It was the season-opening game for Behrend.
Behrend held a 39-28 advantage in rebounds, and an 11-7 edge in three-point baskets. Behrend's Casey Courneed had six threes, including five in the first 10 minutes of play. He finished with 20 points while teammate Nick DeLisio led all scorers with 22 points.
Fredonia State fell to 1-2 on the season. They travel to Elmira on Sunday.
