RESULTS
FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State men's swimming and diving team defeated Alfred University, 140-97, on Friday evening in Steele Hall.
The Devils opened the meet in the 200-yard medley relay, winning in a time of 1:41.31.
Eric Jordan (Lancaster),
Adam Clouthier (Fairport),
Troy Lubanski (Leicester, N.Y.) and
Andrew Case (Clarence) were the winning quartet.
John Estanislau (East Longmeadow, Mass) claimed a pair of freestyle victories, taking the the 50- and 500-yarders in times of :22.13 and 4:56.45, respectively.
Adrian Van Hall (Owego) took the 1,650-yard freestyle in 17:29.38.
Diver
Rafael Santiago (Middletown) won the 1-meter board with a score of 247.25.
Arron Carlson (LeRoy/Notre Dame) was on his heels with a second-place score of 245.70.
Off the 3-meter board, it was
Jeff Matter (East Aurora) winning with a score of 263.10.
Clouthier, who was also on the winning realy team, won the 100-yard breast stroke in a time of 1:02.74. The Devil's swept the top three spots in the event, with
Kris Harris (Amityville/Farmingdale) and
Justin Hawes (Akron) finishing second and third, respectively.
Head coach
Arthur Wang continued to see progress with his teams. "A take away from this meet was the depth the teams showed. We didn't win every event, but the team picked each other up in the other events getting lots of seconds and thirds."
Next Saturday, both the teams travel to R.I.T. for a 1 p.m. meet.
