BOXSCORE FREDONIA, N.Y. – The Fredonia State women's soccer team lost to SUNYAC opponent Buffalo State, 2-1, Saturday afternoon.
Buffalo State (6-3-1, 2-1) started the scoring 10 minutes into the game when Jordan Dudish connected on her first goal of the season.
The Blue Devils (2-6-2, 0-2-1) nearly tied the game when
Mary Bruton (Palmyra) kicked a hard shot to the upper right corner of the net, only to be stopped by Bengal netminder Linda Banfield. Banfield recorded three saves on the day.
With just under a minute left in the first half, Buffalo State's Micky Tinnerman scored on a breakaway to record her second goal of the season and give Buff State a 2-0 lead.
In the 54th minute, a corner kick by Maggie Horan (Livonia) set up Kristi Putzig (Williamsville) to make it a 2-1 game. The goal was Putzig's second on the season.

Hannah McGlinchey (Babylon) made three saves for Fredonia State.
The Blue Devils were outshot 7-5 in the first half. For the game, Fredonia State outshot the Bengals, 12-10.
The Blue Devils return to action Tuesday night when they play host to non-conference opponent Allegheny. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m. at University Stadium.
