BOXSCORE POTSDAM, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State volleyball team won convincingly over Oswego in SUNYAC Pool Play on Friday night. The Devils won 3-0 by set scores of 25-17, 25-6 and 25-16.
The team was led offensively by
Kaitlin Orcutt (West Seneca/West Seneca West) with eight kills.
Jessica DiChristopher (Cheektowaga/West Seneca East) and
Paulina Rein (Baldwinsville) had seven kills apiece. Rein,
Sara Madison (Rochester/Penfield) and
Kelly Edinger (Rochester/Greece Athena) each had three service aces. The Devils had 14 aces for the match. Edinger added 28 assists.
Defensively,
Lauren Hokaj (Lancaster/St. Mary's) had nine digs and Madison had eight.
Fredonia State moves to 15-8 overall, and 2-2 in the SUNYAC. Oswego falls to 13-10 overall and 0-4 in the conference.
Play continues tomorrow as the Devils take on Cortland at 12:30 followed by host Potsdam at 3:00.
