BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- The first of SUNYAC'S post-season tournaments commences Friday when eight women's tennis teams convene at the Binghamton Tennis Center for three days of competition.

Geneseo is the two-time defending champ while Fredonia State, seeded No. 3 from the West Division, will look to improve upon their seventh-place finish in 2012.

The Blue Devils (8-3 overall, 1-2 SUNYAC), winners of six straight matches, will take on the No. 2 seed from the East Division, the Oneonta Red Dragons (7-3 overall, 2-1 SUNYAC), in an 11:30 a.m. match Friday. Both teams advance to Saturday matches in either the championship or consolation bracket against either Geneseo or Plattsburgh.

The tournament concludes with the championship match Sunday.

The Blue Devils have never won the SUNYAC tournament, which was first held during the 1984-85 school year. They are coached by Joe Calarco, now in his 14th season.
