FREDONIA, N.Y. -- Fredonia State won its fifth straight women's tennis match Tuesday, a 7-2 home win over the Alfred Saxons.
Miller Barmasse (Lockport) and
Molly Zanetti (Saratoga Springs) were double winners for the Blue Devils, who improved to 7-3.
In addition,
Alison Phillips (Orchard Park) came through with a solid win at No. 1 singles.
It was the final home match of the season for the Blue Devils, who are back in action Thursday at Medaille.
A pre-match ceremony honoring the team's seniors was held. Barmasse, Zanetti, Phillips,
Jenelle Friedman (Akron), and
Carmina Georgescu (Owego) were recognized as was junior
Sara DiFulvio (Rochester), who will not participate next fall, and senior
Jessica Johnston (Fredonia), who played earlier this fall before leaving to study abroad.
