FREDONIA, N.Y. – The final home meet of the 2012-13 Fredonia State swimming and diving season is Friday vs. Brockport starting at 5 p.m.
It'll also be the final home meet for nine Blue Devil seniors – six women and three men.
Stephanie Andrasek (Parma, Ohio/Normandy),
Sarah Ficarro (Owego/Owego),
Emily Ginty (Chenango Forks/Chenango Forks),
Lizzie Lodinsky (Buffalo/City Honors),
Elizabeth Schake (Churchville/Churchville-Chili), and
Courtney Schmidt (Portville/Portville) are the seniors on the women's team.
Ficarro is a three-time SUNYAC Female Diver of the Meet and six-time NCAA Division III All-American, while her classmates have all placed their names on the Fredonia State record board at one time or another.
It'll also be the final home meet for Charles Arrigo (Brant/Lake Shore),
Conor Drmacich (Tonawanda/Tonawanda), and
Ryan Fuller (Endicott/Union-Endicott).
Like Ficarro, Fuller has excelled as a diver. He won both boards at the 2012 SUNYAC championship meet and will look to make his first NCAA appearance this March.
All nine seniors will be recognized Friday during a pre-meet ceremony on the Steele Hall Natatorium deck.
Divers from Allegheny College will also compete at Friday's meet. Their places will not figure into the team scoring.
The entire meet will be webcast on the
Fredonia State Athletics UStream channel.
The meet will also coincide with Faculty and Staff Appreciation Day. Members of all Fredonia State's teams – including the five in action Friday night – have put together a guest list from among the professors and other campus staff who accepted invitations to a reception from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Bob Steele Multi-Purpose Room. Light refreshments will be served.
