Neumann 5-2 winners over Devils

ASTON, PA. -- The Fredonia State hockey team dropped a 5-2 decision to Neumann College on Saturday.

Both Fredonia State goals came on power plays in the second period. With Neumann up 3-0, Ryan Wilkinson connected on his first score of the season just over six minutes into the period. Alex Perkins and Mitch Kaufmann provided the assists.

Neumann (9-4-2) answered a minute and a half later to make it a 4-1 game.

With five minutes left in the period, Alex Perkins scored his second goal of the season as Mat Hehr was credited with his sixth assist.

Neumann added a goal in the third period to give the 5-2 final.

Fredonia State's Jeff Holloway took the loss in goal making 24 saves and surrendering all five goals. Neumann's Braely Torris also made 24 saves, while giving up a pair of goals.

The Devils had six power plays to Neumann's three. The Knights held a 29-26 edge in shots on goal.

The Devils fall to 5-11-1 this season. They travel to Geneseo and Brockport next weekend to continue conference play.
