SUNYAC TOURNAMENT FACTS
FREDONIA, N.Y. -- Fredonia State will meet Buffalo State in a SUNYAC Tournament women's lacrosse semifinal match Friday afternoon at Cortland.
Game time is 3 p.m. following the 12:30 p.m. game between Brockport and tournament host Cortland.
The winners will advance to the championship game scheduled for noon Saturday.
The SUNYAC champ will earn an NCAA Division III automatic qualifier.
Fredonia State (14-3 overall, 7-1 SUNYAC) was guaranteed the No. 2 seed before they closed out their regular season with a 20-12 home win Saturday over Oswego.
Buffalo State nailed down the No. 3 seed with a 22-10 win Saturday over New Paltz coupled with their 13-12 victory last Tuesday over Brockport.
The Blue Devils and Bengals (12-5 overall, 5-3 SUNYAC) met April 10 at Buffalo State with the Blue Devils prevailing, 15-11.
Both teams received votes in the latest IWLCA Week 10 Division III rankings, yet neither cracked the Top 20. It is the third straight week the Blue Devils have been ranked, the first three times in program history.
The Blue Devils will be making their second SUNYAC Tournament appearance. Their previous tournament appearance came in 2008 as the No. 4 seed.
