BOXSCORE WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- Fredonia State improved to 2-1 with a 15-8 victory over Bridgewater State at Spring Fling 2012.

Down 5-4 at the half, the Blue Devils outscored Bridgewater 8-0 during the first 22 minutes of the second half. Maddison Frink and Karli Brinthaupt had two goals each during the decisive run.

"We just didn't play up to our potential in the first half," head coach Chris Case said. "They controlled the ball and made us work on defense."

The Blue Devils also stymied themselves with 21 first-half fouls compared to three against Bridgewater. "We had to clean up our act," Case said. "We got at them a little bit during halftime, and everything changed."

Frink and Brinthaupt finished with three goals each. Frink also added two assists. Rachel Reinis filled up the stat sheet with two goals, four assists, six draw controls, three caused turnovers, and three ground balls. Mietelski added four draw controls, Morgan McNamara and Katie Kleine each had two goals and one assist, and Amy Simon added two goals.

Casey Chiesa finished with five saves and dropped Bridgewater to 0-2 overall. The Blue Devils return to action 8 p.m. Tuesday against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps at Delray Beach, Fla.
