BOXSCORE FREDONIA, N.Y.-- The Fredonia State women's basketball team fell to Geneseo, 63-55, on Saturday. The Devils finished the game on a 12-2 run, but it was too little, too late as the Devils dropped to 10-11 overall and 6-9 in conference play.
Jaimie Warren led the Devils with 23 points, including a career-high five three-pointers. She had a total of five threes heading into the game.
Kristina Kuscht added 8 points,
Anna Riley had 8 rebounds and
Nicole Calbi chipped in 6 assists.
The Devils opened with the game's first four points before Geneseo ran off the next 10 to take a 10-4 lead. From there, Geneseo would maintain the lead into halftime, 38-26.
At the break, Warren totaled 14 points. Cara Manfredi led Geneseo with 9 points.
The Devils outscored Geneseo 29-25 in the second half.
With the Knights up 61-43 with 7:46 left to play, the Devils ran off 12 straight points to pull within six, 61-55.
The run began with a layup by Riley. Warren then connected on a pair of threes.
Jenna Austin followed up with a three-pointer of her own. The run was wrapped up by a free throw by Calbi.
The Devils would hold Geneseo scoreless from the 7:46 mark until Megan Prue connected on a pair free throws with 12 seconds left to close out the scoring.
Geneseo (13-9, 8-7 SUNYAC) had four players in double digits, with Lea Sobieraski's 14 tops for the Knights.
The Devils are back in Steele Hall on Tuesday evening as they play host to Buffalo State.
