FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State women's basketball team defeated the Brockport Golden Eagles 75-63 to even its overall record at 10-10 and improve its conference mark to 6-8.
Brockport falls to 3-18 overall and 0-14 in the SUNYAC.
The Devils were led by
Becky Hebert with 24 points.
Nicole Calbi added 12 points and 6 assists, while
Jaimie Warren chipped in 12 points and 9 rebounds.
Brockport got off to a solid start in the first half holding a 15-11 advantage at the 12:14 mark. Fredonia State took back the lead two minutes later, but Brockport stayed within striking distance. The Blue Devils led 36-29 with just over a minute remaining before Brockport rattled off the next six points to close out the half. The Devils led 36-35 heading into the intermission.
Hebert had a strong first half with 13 points to lead all scorers.
The Blue Devils came out in the second half on a 14-5 run to go up 50-40. Brockport got back to within six, 54-48, but the Golden Eagles never got closer than that for the remainder of the game.
The Devils' biggest lead of 13 points came at the 3:28 mark following a layup by Calbi to make it 68-55.
The Devils play host to Geneseo on Saturday afternoon. Tipoff is at 2 p.m.
