FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State men's basketball team won for the first time in 2012-13 with a 91-69 home win Tuesday over D'Youville.
Four players scored in double digits as the Blue Devils moved to 1-2 on the year.
Dalton Kashmer (South Dayton) and
Tyrone Clark (Elmira) scored 16 apiece,
Amir Billups (Buffalo) added 15 and
Robert Lyles (Peekskill) had 10 points off the bench.
Joe Monahan (Flooral Park) had nine points, seven assists and three steals.
Elliot Rogers (Brooklyn) had 12 rebounds. Clark was credited with nine rebounds.
Marcus Clark paced D'Youville with 13 points, and Erik Prophet and Jon Gemerek had 12 points each.
Fredonia State put together a strong first half and led 50-25 at the break. The fast-paced game saw a bevy of shot attempts and the Blue Devils to reach a season-high of 53 rebounds, compared to the Spartans' 50. A total of 56 fouls were called.
D'Youville fell to 0-3. It was the first time this season they allowed fewer than 100 points in a game.
Fredonia State takes on Elmira next Tuesday in Stelle Hall at 7 p.m.
