FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State women's volleyball team defeated Ithaca College, 3-1, before falling to Hiram, 3-0, in the Devils' final home match of the season. The Devils' lone senior,
Lindsey Olson (Portville), played her final match in Dods Hall.
In the first match, the Devils downed Ithaca by scores of 26-24, 21-25, 25-21 and 25-21. Freshman
Paulina Rein (Baldwinsville) led the Devils with 16 kills and added five blocks. Olson added 12 kills and seven digs. Freshmen
Jessica DiChristopher (Buffalo) had seven kills and seven blocks while freshman
Lauren Hokaj (Lancaster) had 20 digs. Freshman setter
Kelly Edinger (Lancaster) had 35 assists.
Against Hiram (24-7), Olson tallied 13 kills and nine digs, and Rein added eight kills. Edinger topped the Devils with 29 assists and 10 digs.
Olson is among the Devils' Top 10 career leaders in kills, attempts and digs. She hopes to add to those totals next weekend. The Devils (18-15) travel to Buffalo State for the SUNYAC Championships. As the No. 2 seed, they will take on the winner of the Potsdam/Oneonta play-in game.
