BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State women's basketball team dropped an 80-63 SUNYAC road game at Buffalo State on Monday despite a 28-point effort from sophomore
Becky Hebert.
Hebert did the bulk of her damage from the field, converting on 12 of 26 field goals, including a pair of three pointers. She was two of two from the free-throw line. Hebert also had 6 rebounds.
Senior
Nicole Calbi added 14 points, and had team highs with 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Sophomore
Jaimie Warren finished with 10 points and 7 rebounds.
Buffalo State used a big first half to take control of the game. They held a 40-17 lead at the break. The Devils would respond in the second half, outscoring the Bengals 46-40 to give the final.
Over the final 6:00, the Devil offense exploded to outscore the Bengals, 24-4.
The Bengals (11-1 overall, 4-1 SUNYAC) were led by Bianca Smiley with 15 points and 9 rebounds. Kala Crawford had 11 points, and Staci McElroy finished with 10 points and 7 boards.
The Devils (5-6 overall, 1-4 SUNYAC) are back on the road at Geneseo and Brockport this weekend.
