FREDONIA, N.Y. -- Two freshmen,
Sara DiFulvio (Rochester, N.Y. / Churchville-Chili) and
Stephanie Thompson (Verona, N.Y. / Vernon-Verona-Sherrill), scored all of Fredonia State's points in the Blue Devils 6-3 home loss Wednesday to Penn State Behrend.
First the duo combined for a No. 3 doubles win, 8-6, over Rachel Harris and Reesie Schepis. DiFulvio then won her No. 4 singles match, 6-3, 6-2, over Jade Duhite. Thompson scored a 3-6, 6-3, 12-5 tiebreaker victory over Schepis in sixth singles.
Behrend improved to 3-0 with the team win, while the Blue Devils fell to 0-2. They are back in action Thursday afternoon, again at home, vs. Roberts Wesleyan. The match begins at 4 p.m.
