FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State volleyball team took a pair of games on Day 1 of its own invitational in Dods Hall on Friday.

The Devils downed Pitt-Greensburg in the opening match by scores of 25-9, 25-18 and 25-18.

Jennifer Newhouse, Lindsey Olson and Chelsea Senn had six kills each. Brittany Lis was credited with 30 assists and three aces. Jessica Ernstberger and Senn also added three aces apiece.

In the nightcap, the Devils handled Sage 25-8, 25-15 and 29-27.

Emily Linn had 10 kills, Reanne Sansone had seven kills and two blocks, and Kaitlin Orcutt and Newhouse had six kills each. Lis was credited with 29 assits and two service aces. Sarah Zureck and Jennifer Michelsen had four service aces each. Zureck also had 10 digs, and Michelsen had seven.

The Devils improved to 12-8 on the season and are back in action at 10 a.m. Saturday with a non-conference match vs. Oneonta State. A win would put the Devils in the championship match slated for 4 p.m.
