BOXSCORE FREDONIA, N.Y. ---
Reilly Condidorio (LeRoy, N.Y.) scored in the 87th minute as Fredonia State nipped Brockport, 1-0, Saturday afternoon at University Stadium.
The Blue Devils outshot the Golden Eagles, 32-6, and sophomore goalkeeper
Kayleigh Forger (Rochester, N.Y.) was called on to make just one save. It was her first shutout of the season.
The victory enabled the Blue Devils to split their SUNYAC weekend and improve to 3-5 overall. They are 1-1 in the conference.
The Golden Eagles fell to 5-2-1 overall. They are also 1-1 in the SUNYAC.
The Blue Devils dominated the play in the first half yet had nothing to show for it. They kept the ball in their offensive end, outshot the Golden Eagles, 18-2, but put only three of them on goal, all stopped by Brockport's Erin Asquith (Arcade, N.Y.).
Asquith finished with eight saves.
Brockport took the opening kickoff and came out intent on picking up their offense. The Blue Devils had other ideas and eventually outshot their guests 14-4 in the half.
After numerous scoring chances, Condidorio finally broke through with her fourth goal of the season. She took a short cross from
Katie Kleine (Cazenovia, N.Y.), turned to her right, and with a defender on her shoulder shot to the low left corner with 3:35 remaining.
It was the 24th career goal for Condidorio, which tied her with Amy Zeiser and Beth Mangino on Fredonia State's all-time list.
The Blue Devils held a 9-0 advantage in corner kicks.
Next up for Fredonia State is a non-conference date with Westminster (Pa.) at 5 p.m. Tuesday. The Blue Devils return to SUNYAC competition next Saturday against Buffalo State.
