BOXSCORE GENESEO, N.Y. -- Fredonia State dropped its SUNYAC opener Friday, 2-0, to Geneseo.
Colin Begy broke a scoreless tie at 50:10, assisted by Ian Mort. The pair switched roles at 70:46 when Mort scored and Begy assisted.
Geneseo goalkeeper Sam Murphy made four saves to get the shutout.
Bobby McGinnis made six saves in the Fredonia State net.
Tyler Williams took three shots to lead the Blue Devils, who fell to 6-3 overall. Two of those shots were on net.
Geneseo improved to 4-2-1 with the win.
Fredonia State stays on the road for its SUNYAC game Saturday afternoon at Brockport. Game time is 1 p.m.
