BOXSCORE ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State men's soccer team took a 1-0 lead early in the second half, but could not hold on, dropping a 2-1 match to the University of Rochester.
After the first half of play, neither team managed a score.
Just under eight minutes into the second half,
Luke Tylutki gave the Devils a 1-0 lead on an unassited goal.
At 56:26, U of R would tie the score, 1-all, after converting on a penalty kick of the foot of Jakob Seidlitz.
Two minutes later, Jarvis D'Souza connected on the game-winner for the Yellow Jackets. He was assisted by Douglas Clift.
Bobby McGinnis was in goal for the Blue Devils making six saves and allowing a pair of goals.
For the game, Rochester held an 8-3 advantage in shots on goal.
The Devils are now 1-1 on the season. They travel to Geneva (Pa.) College on Tuesday.
Next weekend, they play host to SUNYIT and Houghton in the Clarion Inn Classic at University Stadium. The home-opener vs. SUNYIT is slated for 7 p.m. Friday evening.
