NEW PALTZ, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State volleyball team defeated host New Paltz, 3-0, and dropped its match to Clarkson, 3-1, at the New Paltz Invitational on Friday.
They defeated New Paltz by scores of 25-22, 26-24 and 25-20.
The Devils were led by
Lindsey Olson with 18 kills, 8 digs and 2 blocks. Reanne Sansone added 4 kills and 6 blocks. A trio of Devils recorded 15 digs --
Brittany Lis,
Sarah Zureck and
Jennifer Michelsen. Lis also had 32 digs.
Clarkson downed the Devils 24-26, 25-20, 25-13 and 25-20. Sansone had 3 kills and 10 blocks, Olson had 10 kills and
Jennifer Newhouse had 9 kills and 3 blocks.
Zureck accumulated 22 digs and tied the team's all-time digs record. She is expected to claim the record tomorrow when the Devils take on Johnson and Wales at noon, and Mt. St. Mary's at 2 p.m.
The Devils are now 5-6 on the season.
