FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State volleyball team won its home opener 3-1 over Medaille College on Tuesday.

The Devils won the first two sets 25-17 and 25-16 before faltering in the third. Medaille rallied for a 25-16 win, before the Devils roared back with a 25-8 set to claim the match.

The Devils were paced offensively by Lindsey Olson (Portville/Portville) with 12 kills. Reanne Sansone (Webster/Webster) added nine kills and five blocks.

Brittany Lis (Lancaster/Lancaster) had 25 assists and 11 digs. Jennifer Newhouse (Amherst/Amherst) had six blocks. Sarah Zureck (Lancaster/St. Mary's) had a team-high 13 digs. 

Medaille falls to 1-4 overall.

The Devils improve to 4-5 overall. Next weekend, they travel to New Paltz to participate in the Hawk's Invitational in non-SUNYAC competition.
