ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Fredonia State split its two matches Saturday at the Nazareth Invitational.
The Blue Devils first defeated Rochester Institute of Technology, 3-1, by set scores of 27-25, 25-17, 16-25, and 25-18.
Emily Linn had 11 kills with a .500 hitting percentage,
Jennifer Newhouse had eight kills and seven blocks, Reanne Sansone nine kills and six blocks, and
Lindsey Olson nine kills and three solo blocks.
Also,
Brittany Lis collected 36 assists and seven digs, while
Sarah Zureck was credited with 15 digs.
In the second match, the Blue Devils (3-5) fell to Cortland, 3-0, on set scores of 25-13, 25-20, and 25-23. Newhouse led with nine kills, plus one block. Sansone added four kills and three blocks, and Zureck had six digs and two service aces.
Lis was chosen to the all-tournament team.
The Blue Devils play their home opener Tuesday vs. Medaille. The match starts at 7 p.m. in Dods Hall.
