FREDONIA, N.Y. -- Fredonia State remained unbeaten on its home field with 4-1 and 7-3 wins over Oneonta in a SUNYAC doubleheader.

The Blue Devils (23-6 overall, 11-4 SUNYAC) made good use of only four hits in the opening game. Three of the hits came in the last of the sixth. Singles by Tina Schwartzmeyer and Lauren Larson put runners on first and second with one out. Brittany Lis dropped a sacrifice bunt and reached safely on an error to load the bases. Julie Arnold followed with a two-run single off the fence in left-center. The third run of the inning scored on an Oneonta error.

Alyssa Brognano improved to 7-1 with a complete-game seven hitter. She pitched out of jams in the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings to leave seven Oneonta runners on base. Schwartzmeyer had two hits to lead the Fredonia State offense, including a double leading off the last of the fourth. She scored following a sacrifice bunt by Michelle Lattner and a throwing error.

The Blue Devils collected 10 hits in the second game, including a homer by Lis to forge a 1-1 tie. Gabrielle Ciccarello delivered a two-out RBI single to give the Blue Devils a 2-1 lead in the fourth, only to have Oneonta regain the lead with two runs in the fifth.

Fredonia State bounced right back with two runs in its half of the fifth. Pinch-hitter Jamie Atkins led off the inning with an infield single, her seventh pinch hit in 10 at-bats this season. A sacrifice bunt by Katie Bartkowiak preceded an Oneonta error, which brought home one run, and an RBI single by Larson.

The Blue Devils added three runs in the sixth. A single by Ciccarello and an error preceded a line double to left-center by pinch-hitter Hannah Vesneske. Bartkowiak then followed with a two-run single, her 45th hit of the season, one short of her own school record of 46 hits set last season.

In the circle, reliever Raela Wiley (5-0) completed to put up zeros. Coming on to replace starter Danielle Shelp, Wiley pitched 2 1/3 innings of scoreless and picked up the win, her second in two days. She has yet to allow an earned run -- and just three runs overall -- in 25 1/3 innings.

The Blue Devils are 8-0 at home with two doubleheaders left -- 3 p.m. Tuesday vs. Alfred, and 1 p.m. next Saturday vs. Buffalo State.
