FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State baseball team won its third straight game, thanks in large part to freshman pitcher
Sean Larson, downing Olivet 9-3 on Sunday.
Larson scattered 10 hits, struck out nine and surrendered three unearned runs in eight innings in his first college start. He did not allow a run until the eighth inning.
The Devils scored runs in the first and second innings.
Taylor Gahagen's RBI single plated the first run, and John Messina's double accounted for the second.
The Devils tacked on three more runs in the fourth.
Jake Nowak had a bases-loaded single to drive in the first two. Tommy Dee stole home for the third run.
The Devils capped the scoring with four more runs in the seventh.
Kody Hoth had a sacrifice fly, and Messina added another RBI double.
Kyle Koslowski had a pinch hit double to tack on two more.
Messina finished the game with three hits, including two doubles. Gahagen,
Joe Kephart and
Vinnie VanAuker had two hits apiece. The Devils had 14 hits as a team.
The Devils take on St. Joe's (Long Island) on Monday at 4 p.m.
