Oneonta's late rally takes down Devils

FREDONIA, N.Y.— After leading by as many as 20 points in the first half, the Fredonia State women's basketball team dropped a SUNYAC contest against the Oneonta Red Dragons, 65-61 at Steele Hall.

Fredonia State falls to 3-11 in the SUNYAC while Oneonta improves to 10-4 in the conference.

Fredonia State jumped out to a 23-3 lead in the first half at the 11:31 mark, holding the Dragons to only three free-throw shots to that point. The Devils took a 36-24 lead into halftime.

Oneonta slowly chipped away at the lead, and took its first lead of the game, 50-49, with 7:18 to play. The game had four lead changes and three ties the rest of the way.
 
Hourihan sank one of her four treys with :22 to play to bring the Devils within two at 63-61.
The Dragons hit two more free throws to take the victory.

Jaimie Warren led the way for Fredonia State with 18 points and six rebounds. Caroline Hourihan finished with 17 points.


The Red Dragons had three players in double figures, led by Madison Slagle with 15. Gabi Regan and Kelly Mulligan scored 12 and 11 points respectively.

Fredonia State has four SUNYAC games remaining, three at home. Next up for the Devils is Buffalo State on Friday, Feb. 11 at 6 p.m.
