Ross nets two goals as Devils tie Brockport

BROCKPORT, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State hockey team skated to a 2-2 tie at Brockport on Saturday evening.

Bryan Ross scored the game-tying goal with 2:02 left in regulation to give the tie. Alex Morton and Ben Waldman assisted.

It was the second game-tying goal of the game for Ross. Down 1-0, he scored his first goal 12:05 into the first period. Ken Nosky and Jordan Oye provided the help.

Ross now has 12 goals on the season.

Brockport took the initial 1-0 lead on a power play goal from Brendan Rothfuss at the 8:34 mark of the first. The score came nine seconds after the Devils were whisteld for a game misconduct for hitting from behind.

Sean Wallace scored Brockport's second goal 4:41 into the second period to give the Golden Eagles a 2-1 advantage.

The Devil out-shot Brockport 49 to 20. Brockport's Joe Reagan made 47 saves, while Mark Friesen accounted for 18 stops for Fredonia State.

Brockport now stands at 1-11-1 in the SUNYAC, and 3-16-3 overall.

The Devils are 10-11-1 and 5-7-1. They play host to Potsdam and Plattsburgh next weekend.

Saturday, February 12 will be the annual Pink the Rink Night.
