Geneseo edges Devils

Two third-period goals lead to 2-1 win

GENESEO, N.Y. – The Fredonia State hockey team fell to Geneseo, 2-1, on Friday evening.

Geneseo scored the game-tying and game-winning goals in the third period to give the Ice Knights a come-from-behind victory.
At 3:31 into the third period, Rich Manley scored Geneseo's first goal to make it 1-all.

Johnathan Redlick scored the game winner on a power play with 7:15 left to play.
 
The Blue Devils took the initial lead. After a scoreless first period, Jordan Oye scored 3:45 into the second period. Bryan Ross assisted.

Fredonia State's Mark Friesen made 24 saves in goal, surrendering both scores. Geneseo's Adrian Rubeniuk made 26 saves allowing one goal.

Geneseo (14-5-2,8-3-1 SUNYAC ) accumulated 24 penalty minutes, while the Devils had 12.The Devils could not take advantage, going 0 for 6 on power plays. Geneseo was 1 for 4.

The Devils fall to 10-11-0 overall and 5-7-0 in the SUNYAC. They play at Brockport on Saturday. The puck drops at 7 p.m.
