FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State women's basketball team cruised past Allegheny College, 77-62, thanks to a combined 51 points from
Becky Hebert and
Nicole Calbi.
The Devils led 34-33 at halftime, but pulled away late in the second half to claim their second win in as many games in Steele Hall. Leading by six, 64-58 with 5:40 remaining, the Devils outscored the Gators 13-4 to close out the game. Hebert scored 7 of her game-high 29 over that stretch. Calbi finished with 22 points, 5 assists and 6 rebounds.
Jenna Austin added nine points and
Liz Wierbinski had 7 points and a team-high 8 rebounds.
The Gators (6-3) had four players in double figures, led by Maria Scarantino's 14.
The Devils improve to 4-4. They are back in Steele Hall this weekend to take on Oswego on Friday and Cortland on Saturday in women's/men's SUNYAC doubleheader action.
