FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State women's basketball team downed D'Youville, 78-57, on Tuesday evening. Sophomore Becky Hebert led the charge with 27 points.

Hebert was supported by Nicole Calbi with 18 points, 7 assists and 4 steals, and Liz Wierbinski with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Jaimie Warren had 10 rebounds.

After D'Youville pulled within one, 19-18 at the 9:36 mark, the Devils outscored D'Youville 18-5 to close out the half with a 37-23 lead. The Devils scored the first six points to open the second and cruised to victory.

The Devils' biggest lead of 32 came with 8:36 left to play. A layup by Wierbinski made it 66-34.

D'Youville was led by Hannah Norton with 22 points.

The Devils have their home opener this Saturday, playing host to Penn State Behrend at 4 p.m.
