FREDONIA, N.Y. -- Women's tennis teams from across the conference will compete this weekend in the first of SUNYAC's championship events.

Fredonia State, the No. 3 seed in the West Division, faces East's No. 2, Cortland, at 2 p.m. Friday at the Eastside Racquet Club in Manlius, N.Y.

Semifinal and consolation matches are Saturday. The championship, third-place, fifth-place, and seventh-place matches are Sunday.

This is the first season in recent years the conference will use a team format. In the past, players were seeded in singles and doubles and the team champion was determined using a points system.

Semifinals:
Geneseo/Plattsburgh winner vs. Fredonia/Cortland winner, 1 p.m.
Brockport/Oneonta winner vs. Oswego/New Paltz winner, 1 p.m.
 
Consolation Bracket:
Geneseo/Plattsburgh loser vs. Fredonia/Cortland loser, 9 a.m.
Brockport/Oneonta loser vs. Oswego/New Paltz loser, 9 a.m.
 
Sunday, Oct. 9
Championship Match (semifinal winners), 1 p.m.
Third Place Match (semifinal losers), 1 p.m.
