BROCKPORT, N.Y. -- Fredonia State avenged an earlier loss to Buffalo State and moved past the Bengals in the SUNYAC West standings with one day remaining of pool-play competition.
The Blue Devils improved to 19-10 overall and 5-1 in the conference by defeating Buffalo State and Oswego, each by 3-0 scores, Friday at Brockport.
Against Buffalo State,
Hannah Manning had 12 kills and
Lindsey Olson had nine kills in a 25-21, 25-14, 25-22 win.
Brittany Lis collected 34 assists and
Sarah Zureck had 13 digs.
Earlier Friday, Geneseo defeated Buffalo State as the Bengals fell to 4-2 in conference play.
Fredonia State's 25-22, 25-9, 25-11 victory over Oswego featured 12 kills by
Emily Linn, nine kills and four blocks by Reanne Sansone, and another 39 assists plus eight digs by Lis.
Fredonia State can win its fifth straight West Division title with wins Saturday over Geneseo and Brockport. Those matches are at noon and 2 p.m., respectively.
