FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State volleyball team swept the University of Rochester in three straight sets in the Devils' final home match this season. The Devils also honored seven seniors competing in their final home match.
The Devils took the sets by scores of 25-22, 25-20 and 25-23.
Junior
Lindsey Olson led the Devil attack with 9 kills. Sophomore
Hannah Manning added 8 kills, and seniors
Jennifer Newhouse and
Emily Linn had 6 apiece in a balanced attack.
Senior captain
Brittany Lis had 30 assists and five digs. Fellow seniors
Sarah Zureck added 7 service aces and 19 digs, and
Chelsea Senn added 7 blocks.
In addition to Newhouse, Linn, Lis, Zureck and Senn,
Jessica Ernstberger and
Jennifer Michelsen were the other seniors competing in their final home date.
U of R was led by Savannah Benton with 9 kills and Meghan Neff with 8 kills. Kelly Mulrey added 3 aces and 13 digs. Rochester drops to 13-12 on the season.
The Devils upped their record to 15-9. The will compete in the Ithaca Tournament on Friday and Saturday.
